Pastor Joseph Edwards and his wife Norma were both saved in the Oral Roberts' Crusade held in January 1969 at Gopaul Lands in Marabella. A follow-up crusade was held at First Church, where God instantly healed Norma of a very painful sickness. Pastor "Joe" entered Bible School in 1970, and graduated with honours as class valedictorian in 1974.
He became an Assistant Pastor at First Church, faithfully serving from 1975 to 1989.
In 1998, Pastor "Joe" pioneered a church in Hackensack, New Jersey. The members of Hackensack Pentecostal Assembly work with the people in the inner city and have witnessed many lives changed to the honour and glory of God. Pastor Joe pastored that assembly for five years before installing another leader, and returning to work with the church in Trinidad.
Today he is the Pastor of the Poonah Open Bible Miracle Center, near Williamsville. His passion is to see people's lives changed to the glory of God. Pastor Joe has succeeded in building good rapport and healthy relationships with all.
He believes churches should strive at unity within the body of Christ and there should be greater fellowship with other denominations.
A loving father to his six children and eleven grandchildren, Pastor Joe lives at Pleasantville with his wife Norma.
Over the years, he has managed to achieve and maintain balance by scheduling his time between various ministry activities and his family.
